FxPro for South African Traders
FxPro Financial Services Ltd holds FSCA authorisation FSP 45052 and offers ZAR-denominated accounts. The thing worth checking before you deposit is which entity your agreement is actually with.
Our position, stated plainly
This site earns a commission if you open an account through a link here. That is a reason to read the section below carefully rather than to skip it: the single most consequential fact about this broker for a South African trader is not a spread or a platform, it is which legal entity signs your account agreement, and it is the fact an affiliate has the least incentive to dwell on.
FSCA authorisation — what to verify
FxPro Financial Services Ltd holds FSCA FSP 45052, issued in 2015. But some South African clients have been onboarded through offshore FxPro entities — Mauritius FSC or Bahamas SCB — rather than the FSCA-licensed one. If your agreement is with an offshore entity, FSCA protections, including recourse to the FAIS Ombud, do not apply to your account.
- What to look for
- The legal entity name on your account agreement
- The FSCA-licensed entity
- FxPro Financial Services Ltd
- Licence to check it against
- FSP 45052, on the FSCA's own register
- If another name appears
- An offshore arrangement — FAIS Ombud recourse does not apply
- When to check
- Before the first deposit, not after
Account tiers
- Standard
- Commission-free; the cost is in the spread, from 1.2 pips on EUR/USD
- Raw+
- Spread from 0.0 pips plus commission of $3.50 per side
- Elite
- Tiered pricing for higher volumes
- ZAR-denominated accounts
- Available — removes the conversion step when funding from a South African bank
Which tier is cheaper depends on how often you trade and how wide the pair's spread is; neither is cheaper in the abstract.
What matters for trading releases
This site is an events calendar, so the broker property that matters here is behaviour around a scheduled release: spreads widen into high-impact prints and stop-losses can fill past their level in a fast market. That is true at every broker and is not specific to FxPro. No broker guarantees execution at your stop price during a release — if a strategy depends on that guarantee, the strategy is the problem, not the broker.
What this page is not
Not a recommendation, not financial advice, and not a comparison against brokers we have not examined. We describe the conditions we could verify and name the ones you must verify yourself, because they depend on your own account agreement.
